I was here when I was 11

This place is known as Kampung Ayer Batang, Pulau Tioman. My parents and I were here when I was 11 years old, we stayed at Nazri's Place I.

This trip was proposed when we (Kapten, Jaq, Fauzi and Dee) were having a very good seafood dinner at Kuala Sungai Baru (if I'm not wrong, it was at the end of last year). Unfortunately, Nazri's Place I was fully booked by a bunch of jokers from Kiasuland. We had no choice except to go ahead with the plan and stayed in Nazri's Place II (not too bad tho, in fact, it was kinda excellent to me *try sleeping in a sleeping bag on a carry mat on a bare ground with sky as your ceiling, then you'll appreciate what Nazri's Place has to offer*).

It was great fun - boating experience, beautiful scenery, easy peaceful kampung environment, excellent hospitality from Kak Ita (chalet owner) and the local people, great pancakes, karipap and teh tarik overlooking the beach served by an unofficial chubby waitress from Seattle, simple but nice meals and many more. I wished I was not reachable, surprisingly, the island was well service connected with 3G (so much of blissful peace for me, ahaks).

So did the kid - they snorkeled all day long at Pulau Tulai and Marine Park, they had a chat among themselves at the chalet's verandah until 11.30 pm, they could choose to dive into the beach or river (which connected to the sea).

Many thanks to Jag, Kapten, Fauzi and Zahir and families who have made this happened!!! Lets do this again guys!

Langkawi Dec 2007

Woke up as early as 6 am on Saturday the 22nd, jumped into the car ("we have no time for shower, kids..") straight away headed to Kuala Perlis to catch our ferry. Convoyed with 3 rides, of course we made pit stops for breakfast at Rawang and lunch at Gurun. We eventually stepped into our ferry at 4 pm. Checked into a luxurious bungalow with 5 bedrooms at Mutiara Burau Bay, had a quick rest before dinner.

8 am, the next day, again we hopped into our shuttle heading to Kuah for a ferry to Pulau Payar. Pulau Payar is a marine park, no body there, no electricity, no fresh water (in case you don't know....). Spent almost a whole day there - snorkelled, lunch (packed lunch, just enough to top up my energy). The water is crystal clear, you can even see from on top of the jetty a 2-metre long Barracuda (local people call him "Mustapa") and a 50-kilo Garoupa (oh god, the head is as big as our heads...even bigger!) and millions of coral fishes (Nemo's family).

Next day 9 am, we headed to Kilim Geopark. It is a beautiful mangrove - we took a 15-foot boat ride to explore this area. I enjoyed the monkeys to eagle feeding, stone hills, cave and "sangkar ikan" exploration etc..... Had seafood lunch at Restoran Mat Sabun .... umphhhhhhhh... lovely. Reminded me of my "Streamer" friends, Capt, Jag and Dee - as they are seafood lovers. They catched live fish, prawn, squid, crab from the "sangkar" and cooked for us ... imagine that !!!!!!!! My tummy nearly exploded....

2.30 pm, we proceeded to "Galleri Perdana", just to buy time for a "Mahsuri" theater at "Makam Mahsuri" at 4 pm.

At nite, after having a "kampung" gourmet, we "lepak" at the beach near to the resort - had a chat over some "kuaci" (as usual....)

Nothing much on the final day. Checked out at 9 am, spent time shopping at Kuah while waiting for the ferry to Kuala Perlis at 4 pm. Click HERE for more pics.

H.I.S Legacy 2007@Teluk Rubiah

H.I.S stands for Haji Idris Samadi. This was initiated by my beloved mother in-law since early this year. Very cold response at the beginning - somewhere in August 2007, we have seriously teamed up as one to make it happen!".

On 24th Nov, the dream came true, all the effort was rewarded - at last all of us landed our feet on the land of Teluk Rubiah Resort for H.I.S Legacy Family Day for the first time ever!

We spent 3 days 2 nite there. A cheerful telematch, BBQ dinner with the head gear competition (Wah Yah's idea), karaoke, exchange of gifts and many more were held.

Many thanks to all of them for their great support especially to Nyaik & Yaik, Ayah & Ibu, Wak Yah, Jatz & Nina, Azley & Kak Cik, Gono & Amie, Nash & Aina and to all the kids. Your contributions were excellent!!!

We had great fun!!!! Stay tuned for the same next year....
